My Freshman Year

I enjoyed reading this section of My Freshman year. There were many points brought up that i could relate to my freshman year in college. One of these points was when Rebekah Stated that their were bulletin boards posted all over campus with all the notices about new events to attend, new music groups in town, or organizations offering enthusiastic invitations to their open house. Rebekah stated that these events offered an oppurtunity for students to dropout of school and place less time on school work which would not be good. This relates to me because i can see bulletins all over campus with the same information on them and if students would attend all the events on the bulletin there would be not a lot of time for school work and grades would go down.

The Mind At Work

After reading The Mind At Work i felt that it was a lot easier to read than ethnography. I was able to stay more focused and interested while reading The Mind At Work. I thought that this story made a good depiction of modern families today. It talked about how the mother and father both went to work every day and did the essentials to help out the family. It even talked about how the mother was exhausted with her job but kept going everyday so she would be able to have money for her family. Parents today would do the same thing they would do whatever they could to have money to provide for their family. All in all i thought that this reading was a lot better than the one we read last week. It was easier for me to understand and also had a lot more information that stuck out to me.
